Heat-treated magnolia has a vivid causative pattern and its color varies from dark brown to light brown. However, it is darker than a thermal aspen and slightly paler than a heat-treated radiate pine. The warm brown color can be deepened with oil treatment. The moisturizing of heat wood is small and the service life is significantly longer when compared with untreated wood.

The growth area of the species Magnolia (Magnolia grandiflor) is in the southeastern part of North America. It is very commonly used as an ornamental tree, sawn timber from it is made very little.

## Good to know about thermal wood

Heat-treated wood, or thermal wood, is produced by modifying wood at a temperature above 160 degrees. Heat treatment improves wood's resistance, weatherproof and thermal insulation properties and reduces wood moisture life. At high temperature, the courtyard leaves the tree. The effect of heat treatment on wood hardness is minimal. Of greater importance is the variation in the density of wood and the type of wood used. Heat treatment slightly weakens the bending and splitting strength of the wood.

At high temperature, the tree throughstains brown. Heat wood is an environmentally friendly and organic product. Only heat and water vapor are used in the manufacturing process. Chemicals are not used when manufacturing.


The applications of products made of thermal wood include walls, ceilings, floors, saunas, furnishings and furniture in doors. For outdoor use, heat wood is used in exterior cladding of buildings, yard buildings and carpentry products (doors, windows, furnishings).

## Fixing

Heat treatment slightly weakens the splitting resistance of wood. For screw fastening, self-drilling screws are recommended. Pre-drilling reduces the risk of crack, especially in fixations made near the ends of the pieces. Stainless steel sparse threaded screws suitable for fastening wood are recommended as fastening screws.

When nailing or screwing, it is worth using a distance of at least 30 mm from the end of the piece and it is recommended to use pre-drilling. When using compacted air tools, an excellent fixing result is obtained. When using pressure-air tools, the impact force must be adjusted so that the nails penetrate sufficiently but do not sink too deep into the wood.

## Surface treatment in saunas

The heat tree is recommended to be treated with paraffin oil, which further deepens the beautiful brown color, brings beautiful wood scab patterns, and facilitates the sanitation of the rafts. Oil is applied in a thin layer and, if necessary, several times. However, before the procedure, you should familiarize yourself with the instructions for use of the treatment agent

Outdoor Surface Treatment

Heat-treated wood is always recommended for surface treatment, since tinted surface treatment helps the surface retain its beautiful color and prevents surface cracking caused by the tibia on wood. For the surface treatment of heat-treated wood, the same products are suitable as for surface treatment of ordinary wood. The heat tree is brown-hued. To preserve the original color and prevent surface cracking, surface treatment with UV protection is recommended. Oil-based surface treatment agents work like untreated wood. The absorption of water-based surface treatment agents is slower, therefore preparations with a long drying time are recommended.

The surface treatment agent is applied in a thin layer and, if necessary, several times. However, before the procedure, you should familiarize yourself with the instructions for use of the treatment agent

Care and Cleaning

Already by washing alone, it is possible to bring a brown shade to the fore from the grayed surface. You should get acquainted with detergents properly. After that, the surface is treated quite normally after the surface is washed.
